Detroit from above

Man, that plane was sure flying low.

Okay, so I was on the 36th floor of the GM building. It's kind of a cool place to put a restaurant, I will admit. The only problem is that it's, well, in Detroit. Major buzz-kill.

You know how you want to do something that defies logic, for example I really want to visit Detroit. I'm not sure why, but I do.

Driving from Detroit into Windsor (Canada, yah?) is really something. Detroit is filthy and stinky and quite scary, and then all of a sudden you're in Zion. You're welcome.

all this talk about detroit is starting to make me want to visit - but i think i did a drive through once and i remember not being impressed - kinda dirty and sad in that inner city sort of way.

People die in Detroit. A lot. Just make sure to wear shoes with laces when you go. It makes it easier for them to hang from the power lines.

hilarious. the street just south of where i live has about 3 pairs of tennis shoes hanging. it makes me smile. when i taught junior high there were always plenty of shoes hanging at the end of the year.

You do know that hanging shoes means someone has died there, right? I kid you not. When I worked the Chapman branch, there were more shoes hanging than birds on a wire. On that note, if you wear Velcro, you just may be safe.

oh that is so sad - i had no idea - i think kids at school just did it as a prank but i could believe there was death on the street near mine - i do live right by state street.

I really love this picture. I would totally frame it and hang it in my entry way.
