Lemme take you on a trip

It's been a little bit since I did something crazy in the name of music. I came home from work today at about 7:30 (don't ask) to discover a package on my door. Said package contained the new Ray LaMontagne album Till The Sun Turns Black as well as a couple of tickets to his Denver show this Monday. Gotta love it when publicist's actually make good on a month-old request, right? I wasn't going to go, but, after careful consideration, I think I'm supposed to. See, my life is such that I don't have to work this Monday. I have a $100 Delta travel voucher just dying to be used. And, well, these are really good seats. If I'm reading things right, my tix are actually in the orchestra pit somewhere. So what if I don't have a place to stay? I think things'll work out. Fly out Monday, head back early Tuesday. That leaves me just enough time to enjoy some sweet, sweet tunes. And perhaps I'll have to get after Ray for never signing my CD in Austin. Some things you just don't forget.

So I'm going. And, if you happen to live in Denver, care if I sleep on your couch? I'm not a snore'er, honest. Lemme know.

I almost invited you, Katie. Almost. But it seemed too risky ... so I didn't. Next time?

Badly Drawn Boy is a weirdo, but a very good singer!

This blog is a Badly Drawn Boy-free zone. Let's keep it that way please.

Of course I did. Report to follow shortly. I just got off a thrice-delayed plane, so I need to gather my bearings. Hold please!

I totally looked for you at the show, but I only had a sketchy blogger.com profile pic to go by and I was completely unable to locate you. I was in Q12, over on the far right. You?

I'm not looking at my ticket right now, but I do know I was smack-dab in the middle of the row of the middle section, a few rows back from the soundboard guys. And, yeah, I looked for you afterward, but no dice. Sorry bout that.
