I liked today because ...

Honestly, the best part of my day was almost just finding a La Salsa, quite on accident. They may have shut their doors in Utah, but they're up and running in San Diego. I got an old lunchtime staple of mine, which was once the cheapest thing on the menu (and is still pretty darn close) — the blessed Bean and Cheese burrito. Fresh black beans and some cheese wrapped in a big tortilla. Simple simon. Feels like two pounds of heaven. All for $4. Throw in a few chips, some avocado salsa and some of that spicy red action and, well, you have a happy man in me (not to mention a very full stomach). Best part about it? They gave me the meat upgrade by adding chicken to it ... without charging me an extra penny more. That's, what, a $1.25 mistake on somebody's part? I dunno. I chose to believe someone was being real nice to me and felt I needed to add a bit of protein to my diet. Because, well, I probably do. Running seven miles this morning, the energy levels were really pretty low. Anyway. Thank you, Mister La Salsa cook, for making my day. You made me smile bigger'n I already was.

I'm staying at the W. Know it? They have a bar that poses as a beach. It has a bonfire, sand floor and everything. I think I may revisit it this evening, even though being outside gives me the shivers.

Like a long lost love I had almost forgotten the name "La Salsa." The mere mention of it brings all the longing and heartbreak back.

Dammit Dainon.

My heart aches for you.

But more so for another one of those burritos. Beto's doesn't cut it.
