Song leak 'o the day

This new Iron & Wine track (off forthcoming The Shepherd's Dog) has the power to reach into my chest and grab me right by the heart. Sammy Beam's done it before ("The Trapeze Singer" had me nearly suffocating with emotion the first time I heard it), but it'd been a while. It's good to know he's still got it. Thanks for unleashing this one into my consciousness, Katie.

I love how the Internet brings people together like this. You will be hearing from me shortly.

I had a very similar reaction to "the trapeze singer" the first time I heard it.

Katie: You know what's funny? If I'm not mistaken (though I sometimes am), you're the one who introduced me to "Trapeze" as well. You are fueling my Iron & Wine fascination. Thank you!

I'm on it. I'll letcha know, shore 'nuff. Weren't they SO GOOD when they came with Calexico? I do believe I was watching like a deer caught in the headlights. So beautiful. So utterly amazing. It was like three amazing concerts for the price 'o one. One of best live performances I've witnessed in the past five years or more.

A friend recently introduced me to Iron & Wine and I fell deeply in love. I especially like their cover of the Postal Service's "Such Great Heights."
