Wordless Wednesday (First Class)

I'm going to cheat on today's Wordless Wednesday a bit. How so? Well, here are some evil words.

I'm in Mexico City this evening, where it is cold and wet and they're selling "original" umbrellas in the streets. Table dances are also quite popular on a Tuesday evening—so popular, the three of us were offered one about every 20 minutes we roamed the puddles outside. However, I just wanted to show the folks at home what First Class looks like sometimes. Well, the food anyway. Delta has upped its game. Lunch consisted of a fresh mixed Mesclun Salad with Tomato, Cucumber and Radish, offered with Milano Caesar Vinaigrette ... along with Cheese Tortellini with a sun-dried Tomato and Cream Sauce, tossed with Mushrooms, Butternut Squash and diced Peppers (along with roasted chicken breast). It was delicious. I didn't even complain that there was no dinner roll and butter ... or that the tomatoes weren't exactly garden red. I stuffed my happy face and was glad to do so.

If you're the Chef of that particular meal and you happen to be reading this, well then, I salute you!

I feel I should list 10 reasons I love mexico city: it rains just enough - mostly a short afternoon shower in the spring if my memory serves me right, bolillos with nearly every meal, stunningly colored skies at sunset - with a cool city scape framing it, flying or driving into the valley at night and being greeted by a heaven of man made stars, so much to see historically and artistically speaking, gorgeous green hills and jungles a mere drive away with fabulous beaches only a bit further either direction, ballet folclorico (sp?) super cool dancing basically, fresh gorgeous flowers for cheap, fruit vendors every way you turn, and my all time favorite - streets drenched in purple jacarandas in may. i'm jealous of you today.

I fell in love with Mexico City while I was down there...warts and all. When I was down there in August the weather was pretty mild to chilly and it rained almost every day but only in the afternoons.

That being said, We weren't served any food on my flight down there last year...I'm a wee bit jealous.

Ay Dios Mio. Que comida bonita! I hope you're getting the Cancun bug out of you so you can join us in Yellowstone. I talked Ali out of Powell.

When you fly as much as I do, sometimes the airlines roll out the red carpet. Only sometimes, though. I still feel out of place in First Class ... but I like it nonetheless.

Man, it's chilly here.

As for Cancun, Ima still gonna go there. If'n it kills me, I will be lounging about on a beach, even if it is all by my lonesome.

Conversation at a party:
He: What airline did you fly?
Me: (Name of airline)
He: "More leg room in coach than any other airline!"
Me: (Thinking "Coach" meant "First Class") I wouldn't know. I've never flown Coach.

The awesomest part was that I was so matter-of-fact in my statement, and (in my head) it was such a logical response, that I came off COMPLETELY elitist. AWESOME.
