Random Act of Recognition.

Work gave me an iPod shuffle today, complete with the company name branded on its side. Why? I think it's because they like me. For those keeping track at home, this means I haven't had to pay for this piece of joy nor the 80 GB iPod I scored last Christmas. Win-win. It's enough to send me into the holiday weekend happy. It's also some kind of cosmic sign that I need to start running again. It's true. Outside of soccer twice a week and the random hikes and such, I have not run since the half marathon in July. The cooler weather is calling me back to the park, I think.

Additionally, running with a tiny thing clipped to my shirt totally trumps doing so while gripping a sweaty iPod in my paws. I don't know that for a fact yet, but I'm a believer.

Yeah, I don't think you should run with your 80GB iPod. I think that may have been what ended up killing my 40GB. It's the difference between hard-drive and flash... but I'm sure you already knew that.

i got a shuffle after having run w/ my 30gig pod for months and the conversion to the shuffle was the greatest thing that ever happened to my running. You seriously cannot even feel it. You will love it.
I wish my company loved me enough to give me cool free toys. Lucky.

I want you to know i'm keeping track. I also want to brag that after paying my $25 faculty dues I got a t-shirt with my school's logo on it that I plan to wear when I go running. see - my job is nearly as cool as yours. well, except that I never have to travel and stay in nice hotels and eat good food.

An Ipod shuffle is nice, but I enjoy the simpler things in life. My work gave me a rubix cube- oh excuse me, I mean a MAGIC cube. It's the same thing, just cheaper. That's social work for ya. I plan on running with my magic cube so that I can stimulate my mind and body at the same time. . . oh and I can throw it at people running by that have free ipod shuffles.
