Oh, bollocks.

Got this in the e-mail today, not 10 minutes ago.

Dear Dainon Moody:

Your registration for the 2008 Canyonlands Half Marathon and Five Mile Run lottery was not chosen.

This means I will not be able to run in Moab in March, as I'd wanted to do. This also means I can start eating fudge by the pound. See? Even when you lose, you still win.

Dang it! You're like the only person I know who hasn't been admitted. I think it's because you're a white male. Discrimination!

I'm really saddened by this! I was really looking forward to this race. Michele got in...maybe we should have been on her team??

Totally unrelated comment: I love the word 'bollocks.' Not because of its meaning, just because its cacophony is rather euphonious to me. (Ok, so not teaching the smart English classes anymore is wearing on me.) Sorry you didn't get in, but yea for chocolate? Maybe?

The fudge has been really good today. And it's turning me into a crazy hyperactive, but I'm okay with that. Woopity doo!

Did you ever check out the HB half marathon? I thought about it for a minute. 9 minutes to be exact, until the timer rang for my chocolate chip cookies.

Hey there, just wanted to let you know that I've tried to get in that race three times and been rejected each time. Sucks huh? Keep eating that fudge. There is a 1/2 in St. George on Jan 19 that my husband is running if you want to try for that one!

I'm telling you...group registration is the way to go. Enjoy your chocolate. I, on the other hand, have to lay off the treats and start training again. You're right, even when you lose, you win.

Yeah, we did sign up as a group. And they still put the kibosh on us. Ah, well. There will be other races. I can feel it in me bones.
