Vampire Weekend, 3/31/08.

I wish there was more I could say about Vampire Weekend's performance earlier this week, but I'm only really remembering that it was short (45 minutes) and really pretty hot (how they played nearly the whole time in sweaters is beyond me). Yes, it was pretty enjoyable and, yes, that opener of a band was incredibly fun to ridicule, but that was that. They gave exactly what I'd expected them to give, playing all the songs on their lone album, sounding pretty pitch-perfect exactly like it. Moral of the show: It was good/great to see so many familiar faces there ... in that respect, the concert felt like some kind of alternate universe family reunion. And it's just nice to realize that some of the people I know and like and respect gather round to hear the good sounds. Makes a man good 'n happy.

Ah! I'm so jealous! I would've loved to see these guys but they didn't make it to vegas. Thanks for the report.

Can I have a copy of the picture of you and Deej? That's truly priceless. I think I would need to blow it up real big.

No problemo. I tried sending it on Friday, but apparently I don't know how to attach photos to e-mails. Ask, you shall receive.
