I will see this band live tonight.

What I really need to do is stop buying two tickets at a time. The way this one's turning out, I'm heading out to see Wilco in Grand Junction, CO in a few hours all by my lonesome. That's something like 4 or 5 hours of driving to get there and the same amount back. The plus side of all of that? Lots of time to think and reflect. I can put the brakes on and take roadside photos whenever I please. Nobody will beg for bathroom breaks along the way. And I will have all the glorious time in the world to focus on a band that has easily found its way into my Top 5 ... and my heart (tear). I figgered that, if they couldn't come to see me, I'd do the traveling for them. This is before it was announced Jeff Tweedy and the rest would be headed to the Red Butte concert series in August, but I'll go to that, too. Their music is my favorite drug. I just can't help getting all hopped up. UPDATE: I shall not be flying this trek solo after all. Thank goodness for the spontaneity of good thrill-seeking friends ...

I'm so excited for you! I've been listening to straight Wilco at work the past week...those guys.

O- Good.
I was about to make a suggestion on a friend who lives in ColoRAD-o, but I'm glad you're all set. It'd be hard to believe anyone would turn down the opportunity for one of the most gorgous roadtrips ever designed AND Wilco tickets!

Go pay your homage to the Tweedy. Oh, I'm jealous, between GJ (I miss that side of the world), and the boys. That's a great trip you're embarking on.
