Memorial Day Muzak.

Sure, Death Cab has the majority vote, but it's a bit of a drive, it's gonna be a sad, wet 'n chilly affair, 35 bones is a lot to drop for a concert and c'mon, is Ben Gibbard really all that great to see live anyway? Those are my reasons for skipping out, anyway (barring a fairly slim chance of slipping in for free). I love 'em, but my love has limits. I will buy albums and call it good 'n decent. I was tipped off to an Australian band called The Presets this weekend (thanks, Miaken), one that'll be unleashing their robotic rock tonight over yonder at Urban Lounge. Walking distance from my place, you know. And much cheaper. And, yes, stinkyandlateandcrowdedandshweaty, BUT a perfect excuse for dancing like a flailing, crazy person. Which is how holidays should come to an end sometimes. Come fly with me, eh?

Death Cab? I'd probably skip out too.I like a couple of covers of Ben's stuff, and Chris Walla has a few good singles on his new solo album, but um, I'm not much of a fan of the Cab.

I saw The Presets in NY yesterday and it was DELIGHTFUL!
