She is No. 1.

It's been almost a whole week since I've mentioned Sumo Baby; now I've all the reason in the world to do so once again: she's a winner. A big winner. And, when I say big, I mean biggest. In her dad's own words, he boasts, "We always knew she was great, but we didn't realize she would be at the top of all kids everywhere."

Sumo Baby came back from the doctor with a perfect score. She is in the 100th percentile for her weight. She's also in the 90th percentile for her height and 50th for her head, but her weight is what counts here. At 7 months, she tips the scale at 21 pounds. I am proud of her always-eating skills, as are her folks. As for Sumo Baby herself? She's ecstatic.

Her dad again (who sent the following photo): "Here she is after we told her she made the 100th percentile."

Everyone else, you can stop having babies now. This is the one.

All other babies just serve as a distraction from the #1 Sumo Baby.

that's hilarious! my niece still has the nickname of buddha two years later (even her toddler friends call her that).

She really is adorable.

Max was one of those 100th percentile babies too, but he was also in the 100th percentile for his length, so he didn't look as chubby. It's fun having a gigantic baby though. It's like a badge of honour, although I don't know why.
