Today's small miracle.

A mechanic fixed the grinding sound in my trusted Honda ... something that had to do with something else that was pushing forward onto something, making for a pretty unpleasant grinding noise each time I used my brakes ... and he did it for the low, low price of FREE. I was wondering how many hundreds of dollars it'd put me out to get new brakes or brake pads and then, well, he smiled and told me there was no charge. I couldn't even process that very easily. I've never had that happen before.

It's been a weird day, to be sure, but that small act of kindness certainly made this day that much brighter. Let the sun shine in, indeed.

Did he have the hots for you or something? Thought you were cute? That niceness just is unheard of these days. . . still, awesome.

Mel, let's not degrade an act of kindness that way. It just needn't happen. :)

He must be getting a head start on Obama's redistribution of wealth program.

But...why?

(the way I am actually saying this won't translate in print. Just think mysterious movie detective with quizzical look on his face...that still may not work, but I tried)

I never ask why when it comes to FREE. I accept and make a getaway before they have a chance to change their minds ...
