Sound off / Song off.

Once again, I need your help with a Song Off, so I hope you'll lend me your votes.

You see, Emily the Cliff and I are each posting a song at the same time (at midnight or pretty much pertinear that time) and we want you to tell us which one you dig the best. Listen to the song below, head over to her blog and check hers out ... then come back and throw your vote into the comments section, as well as why you picked what you did. Easy enough, right?

My song's called God Monkey Robot and it's by The Apparitions. I can only reveal that this song ended up on a mix I made once upon a time and, each time I hear it, it makes me boogie kind of a lot. It also makes me sing along to that crazy, catchy chorus. I hope you've never heard it before now. Here she is ...

Results on the last Song Off can be viewed by heading over to replikate's blog, so skedaddle over that way for a look see, m'kay? The post is called Tally Ho.

So, it was a hard call for me. I went and bought them both because I loved both of them but I think I loved Emily's just a little bit more today.

I have to say that I do like your choice Dainon. Emily's is a great pick and I always like the mixes Emily makes but for the song off - you win. I wanted to jump on my desk and hop around.

Hm, I liked both of them. However, I thought that though yours had a good beat and was more interesting, the other song was more appealing to me overall.

At the risk of being unpopular, I am voting for Dainon's song.

Reason: His choice is original and offers listeners a new experience through simple yet disciplined pop. The competing song was an ugly, neo-hippy, badly-tasting arrangement of instruments and vocals. I wanted to throw it up. It reminds me of a more popular--yet equally nauseating--song that crooned, “I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch…”

And while I know we’re not voting on the video, I will say that you should take Emily’s advice and not be ashamed to close your eyes. In fact, I recommend it if you want to get through it.

This was difficult. Originally I was going to vote for Kate. Had to give each another listen and decided to go with Dainon. Love the beat on his. Still need to warm up to the lyrics a bit. Both great tracks. well done

oh hey! i am pretty sure I got this song on a mix from you! and now it seems to me that it must have been at a good moment of my life because it's making me feel really good.

i have to listen more though because emily's choice is pretty rad too.

no vote yet.

ok so i like both songs for different reasons and are both good for different moods. yours i got on a mix from you once and emily's i put on a mix for you years ago...haha. so i can't really decide--big surprise.

Keep the comments coming, folks. I don't even care if you like Em's tune more than mine. I'm just glad I'm throwing it into your collective conscious. Give it time and it just might stick there for a while. That's what happened to me about three years ago, when I initially heard it.

I vote for you Dainon. You're song rocks more and seems more creative.

I'm with Dainon on this one... i'd heard neither song before but Dainon's was different and a little more happiness inducing and Emily's was a bit too same-y of that genre.

Though I liked both songs quite a bit, I couldn't decide, so I left the decision making up to a much sterner judge than I, my 15 month old.

She grooved to Dainon's Track so much more than The Cliff's, and even bit me on the shoulder with excitement...which means Dainon was the Winner!

so yeah, i'm going with Dainon's. I just love it so.
